The Highest Mount Agung in Bali



Mount Agung is the highest mountain on the island of Bali with a height of 3,142 meters above sea level . The mountain is located in the district of Rendang , Karangasem regency - Bali . Mount Agung is a highly purified mountain Balinese Hindu community . Hindu community believe this is where the abode of the gods .

To reach to the top of the climb there are several pathways that are commonly used . First , from the south side through the Pura Pasar Agung , District Strait , Karangasem regency . Second , from the southeast through Budakeling through Jackfruit . The third path , which passes through the southwest side of Besakih . The third track is the most popular among the climbers . Due to reach the highest peak can only be passed through the largest temple complex in Bali .

In order to walk safely climbing activity , there are some restrictions that should be avoided by the mountaineers . Abstinence is the first climb during the religious ceremony in Besakih or Pura Pasar Agung . Other dietary restrictions , for female travelers should not climb while coming months . Because, according to local belief , if these restrictions are violated two will invite disaster .
